The archdiocesan policy stipulates that ALL persons who have ongoing and continuing contact with children must complete Safe Environment training. All campus employees and any volunteers working directly with students in the classroom are required to complete the Archdiocesan-approved Safe Environment program called Safe Haven. Our goal is to have every adult family member complete the Safe Environment training session. This ensures that we create a safe community for your child, as well as all the other children attending our school.
The CMG Safe Haven online training is replacing the VIRTUS training. The training consists of 3 vignette-style training videos that are approximately 60 minutes and will include a criminal background check that must be completed.
These training modules are available in both English and Spanish.
All Safe Environment training is available online.
The turnaround time for approval may be approximately two weeks or less.
All individuals must complete the training and complete a background check prior to the start of employment and/or volunteer service.
You can find a PDF version of the instructions in the link below:
If you have never attended an Archdiocesan Safe Environment training in the past or have never taken the Safe Haven online training, please register to create a new account via CMGConnect.
RENEWAL
Individuals who recently attended VIRTUS (the previous Archdiocesan safe environment program) will not be due to complete refresher training until their 5-year anniversary date. As the 5-year anniversary date is met, individuals will need to log into CMG Connect with their previous personal VIRTUS user id and 1234 as the password. Once the individual logs into their CMG Connect account, they will be able to change their password.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
You will be required to complete a criminal background check as part of the registration process. Failure to complete the criminal background check in its entirety will delay the approval process for volunteer service.
Please make sure you enter your legal name as it appears on your Government Issued Id (Driver’s License, State-issued Identification card, Passport, Matrícula Consular).
