Strategic Plan

As our School approaches our 75th anniversary (during the 2024-2025 school year) the leadership teams of the Assumption Church & School determined that our community needed to plan for the next 75 years of service to our North Houston community. 

In partnership, the Assumption Catholic Church and Assumption Catholic School hired Jackson & Ryan Architechts in the summer of 2021 to conduct a Parish Campus Survey and develop a Campus Master Plan. 

Our Parish goals for this project: 

• Preserve the architectural heritage and character of the campus.

• Provide a safe, secure and unified campus by improving lighting, drainage and walkways.

• Present a welcoming front to the community while providing a safe perimeter for the school.

• Encourage a strong sense of community between church and school by developing gardens, plazas, and saports fields.

• Prepare a maintenance and renovation plan for all existing facilities to extend their life and maximize their use.

• Support our church ministries by increasing the available number and type of meeting spaces.

• To better serve students by increasing enrollment while reducing overall class size in the school.

• Improve and expand school facilities to provide more opportunities to students, including Catholic STREAM School certification.

• Improve safety and convenience to parents and parishioners by enhancing parking, carpool and traffic flow.

• Plan for the future within our means, with appropriate phasing, schedule and budget.

The initial phase of the project was completed during the 2021-2022 school year. During that phase Jackson & Ryan did the following:

• Completed a survey of the current campus facilities

• Completed a land survey with topographical information to better evaluate the Parish flooding issues

• Completed interviews of members of our Church & School communities

• Conducted tours of other Church & School campuses to 

The next phase of the project is underway with the vendor developing a  Parish Master Plan. In the development of the Parish Master Plan, our school's Strategic Plan will be formed in order to best align with the goals of the Assumption Community.
